Text Box: M.E. Malone is a freelance journalist with a professional background in news reporting, writing and editing at The Boston Globe newspaper. She created content for one of the first news websites in the country, Boston.com, in 1994 and has taught journalism to students at Northeastern University. She also worked as an advisor on patient communication for Pfizer Corporation.

She is an accomplished sailor, having crossed the Atlantic Ocean from Massachusetts to England in 1991 as first mate on a 45-foot sailboat. The return passage later that year from the European continent to the Caribbean included her then 3-year-old son on the crew list. She has experience as a double-handed sailor with numerous excursions along the eastern seaboard from Newfoundland to Chesapeake Bay as well as passages between Bermuda and the Virgin Islands. She loves quiet, offshore watches at night.

A graduate of Boston College, she is the mother of two sons. In addition to writing and sailing, she loves to cook, swim, play ice hockey, and try to keep up with the New Yorker magazines that arrive in the mail each week.
